Waite W. Worden Jr.
Here is a picture of my house in Waterford, Vermont.
Waterford is in the Notheastern part of Vermont
and is bordered by the Connecticut River and New Hampshire on the East.
My house is about 1 1/2 miles from the Connecticut River.
Here is a picture of a part
of the yard. The "yard" is 1.0 acre. This picture was taken with the house
right behind me.
Just to the left of the center you can make out
a gargoyle statue. To the left of the gargoyle, you can see a white statue
- that's a cast resin Buddha.
OOPS! WHERE DID THAT GUY COME
FROM?
This next picture is a closer shot of the Buddha.
The plastic piping is part of a system to circulate
water through the gargoyle...it comes out of his mouth.
I have 17 grape plants: 8 Worden Grapes, 8 Van Buren
Grapes and 1 Concord Grape. The Van Burens are defnitely the best producers;
the Worden Grapes produce SOME, and the Concord never produces any. The
growing season is just too short. Following is a close up of a bud
on a Worden Grape.
I also have a WHOLE LOT of Siberian Irises. You
can see a large clump in the foreground of the picture of the house.
These are extremely hardy. I've been spreading these for about 20 years
now. They all came from 3 small cuttings I got from a neighbor. In the
intervening 20 years I've given away numerous cuttings to friends. In the
nursery stores they charge about $4.95 for a small cutting. At those prices,
I have no doubt put several hundred dollars' worth in the compost pile.
. CHECK
IT OUT!
Is that a nice flower? Iris
is my favorite.
Here is a picture of me standing next to a stone wall. This stone wall
is to the right of the house shown in the first picture. I have an old
stone wall on the east side of the property - probably about 220 feet long.
This is a picture of an Austrian meerschaum pipe
which my Grandfather purchased in Vienna soon after the end of World War
I. The white line in the upper center with no text should say that
there is a label saying H. Heinrich/WIEN/with an address.
The detail on this pipe is really quite remarkable
as illustrated in the next two pictures. Sorry I can't rotate the first
picture for you.

Everybody's into links....giving them or clicking
on them. I haven't yet figured out how to make a link, but I got
